Building the Bridge Between Asset Risk and Maintenance Strategy

Following our recent sessions on Risk-Driven Reliability Execution and Asset Risk Analysis, this webinar takes the next step: understanding Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) as the framework that turns asset risk into the right maintenance strategy for each piece of equipment.

Many organizations know they should be applying RCM, but treat it as a one-time study rather than a repeatable decision-making process. This session introduces the fundamentals of RCM in a practical, accessible way—no prior RCM experience required—so participants can understand how it works, why it matters, and how it connects to the risk-based prioritization discussed in our previous sessions.
Participants will learn:

• What RCM is (and isn't), and how it differs from traditional preventive maintenance planning
• The core RCM logic: functions, functional failures, failure modes, and failure effects
• How to select the right maintenance strategy—preventive, predictive, or run-to-failure—based on failure consequences
• How RCM connects to asset criticality and risk analysis to prioritize where to apply it first
• How to get started with RCM without needing a full-scale, resource-intensive study

This session lays the technical foundation for organizations ready to move from risk awareness to defining the right maintenance strategy for their most critical assets.
